Granted wartime exemption on condition that he not play professional hockey in 1917-18. Rights retained by Mtl. Wanderers after NHA folded, November 26, 1917. Claimed by Ottawa from Mtl. Wanderers in Dispersal Draft, January 4, 1918. Rights transferred to Toronto by NHL, December 30, 1920.
Cleghorn did not report until January 20, 1921. Signed as a free agent by Ottawa after securing his release from Toronto, March 15, 1921. Rights transferred to Hamilton by NHL, April 6, 1921. Traded to Montreal by Hamilton for Harry Mummery and Amos Arbour, November 26, 1921.
1923-24 Stanley Cup totals includes series with Calgary (WCHL) and Vancouver (PCHA). Traded to Boston by Montreal for $5,000, October 13, 1925.
