Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Maneluk
Left-winger Mike Maneluk spent three years in the NHL with four different clubs beginning in 1998-99. He entered the 2001-02 season as an important addition to SC Bern of the Swiss Elite League.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Maneluk was a fine goal scorer on the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings. After scoring 50 goals in his last junior season, Maneluk signed with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He opted to play the 1994-95 season with the Canadian national team then scored 33 goals for the Baltimore Bandits of AHL the next season.

Maneluk was traded to the Ottawa Senators in July, 1996 but continued to toil in the AHL. A year after a deal brought him to the Philadelphia Flyers, Maneluk made his NHL debut with the club. A few weeks later he was sent to the Chicago Blackhawks for Roman Vopat. In 1999-00 Maneluk led the AHL with 47 goals as a member of the Philadelphia Phantoms. He then signed as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets and was a solid utility player in 2000-01 before deciding to pursue a career in Europe.
