Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jack Capuano
Here was a case of a player who estimated his worth as being greater than what his team had, asked for and got a trade, but never produced during his second and even third chance.

After being drafted by Toronto 88th overall in 1984, Capuano spent a year with Newmarket in the minors, recording a team low -28 in 1988-89. The next fall, he believed he had won a spot on the roster, but after only one game was demoted. Upset, he went home and demanded a trade, which he got, to the Islanders, on December 20, 1989.

The Isles, however, sent him to Vancouver for Jeff Rohlicek ten weeks later before putting him in even one game, and after three starts with the Canucks he was on his way to Boston as a free agent. Two games later, he had played his last in the NHL, though he finished 1991-92 in the minors and then turned to coaching in the East Coast league where he continues to this day.
