Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rene Chapdelaine
Rene Chapdelaine was selected 149th overall in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He had played two years of junior hockey in his hometown of Weyburn with the Red Wings of the SJHL before enrolling at Lake Superior State University, where he played four years in the NCAA. Chapdelaine enjoyed a steady, if unspectacular individual career in college. The pinnacle of his collegiate career came in his junior year when the school won the NCAA national championship. Other notables on that winning club included the likes of future NHL players Jim Dowd and Dan Keczmer.
