Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jan Nemecek
Defenceman Jan Nemecek played six games for the LA Kings in 1998-99 but was unable to make a permanent place in the league. An offensive-minded player, he put up big numbers in the Czech Republic and junior and was solid in the IHL.

Born in Pisek, Czechoslovakia, the 215 pounder was an imposing but inexperienced player with HC Budajovice. He was chosen 215th overall by the Kings in 1993-94 and came to North America to skate with the QMJHL's Hull Olympiques. He scored 92 points in his two seasons with Hull then spent two years in the minors.

Nemecek scored a goal in six games for LA but was relegated to the IHL with the Long Beach Ice Dogs. He helped the team's transitional game and power play in 1998-99 and 1990-00 before playing for the Nurmberg Tigers of the German League.
