Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kevin Dahl
Kevin Dahl was an 11th round draft pick, 230th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in 1988. Dahl played four years of NCAA hockey with Bowling Green and was a top defensive performer each year.

After finishing his collegiate career, Dahl spent a year toiling in the minors with the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds of the ECHL and the Fredericton Canadiens of the American Hockey League. For the 1991-92 season, Dahl answered the call to play for the Canadian National team. He suited up for 45 games, scoring two goals 15 assists for 17 points. In the 1992 Lillehammer Olympics, his proudest moment in hockey. Dahl played in eight games, scoring two goals.

When it became apparent to Dahl that he was unlikely to fit in with the Montreal Canadiens, he opted to sign with the Calgary Flames as a free agent on July 27, 1991. After completing his commitment to the Canadian National team, Dahl joined the Flames, appearing in 61 games in the 1992-93 season, scoring two goals and nine assists. His most productive NHL season came in 1994-95, despite playing in just 34 games he managed to score four goals and eight assists. After four years with the Flames, Dahl signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Coyotes on September 4, 1996. However, Dahl managed to get into the lineup on just two occasions, spending virtually the entire season with Las Vegas of the International League.

One year later Dahl opted to re-sign with the Calgary Flames. He played in 19 games, picking up a single assist. Once again he looked to the free agent route, and signed with the St. Louis Blues in September 1998, but was soon thereafter claimed in the waiver draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dahl dressed for three regular-season games, failing to make the scoresheet.

The 1999-2000 and 2000-01 seasons were spent in the minors with the Chicago Wolves of the IHL. Dahl was in the lineup for four regular-season games with the expansion Columbus Blue Jackets.

In 2001-02 Dahl was scheduled to suit up for the Nuernberg Ice Tigers.
