Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jarrett Deuling
Left-winger Jarret Deuling played parts of two seasons with the New York Islanders in the 90s. He entered the 2001-02 season as a reliable minor leaguer who was looking for one more chance at the NHL.

Born in Vernon, BC, Deuling played in the AAHL with the Whitehorse Bears before spending four years with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers. He was taken 56th overall by the Islanders in 1992 and was a member of two Memorial Cup championships. In 1994-95, the hard-nosed winger scored 11 goals and worked hard in the corners as a rookie pro with the AHL's Worcester Ice Cats. The next year he upped his goal total to 16 and was recalled for 14 games in New York.

After playing one game in 1996-97, Deuling was relegated to the minors. Through the 2000-01 season he reached double figures in goals five times and switched over to the San Jose Sharks organization before retiring.
