Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kevin Evans
Peterborough, Ontario native Kevin Evans played for his hometown Petes, the London Knights and the Victoria Cougars before turning pro in the Minnesota North Stars organization. Evans, a left winger, joined the North Stars' farm club, the Kalamazoo Wings, for the 1985-86 season. It wasn't until his sixth season in the minors that he cracked Minnesota's NHL roster.

Evans suited up for four contests with the North Stars in 1990-91 recording no points. That summer the San Jose Sharks joined the NHL and a Dispersal Draft was held to stock the franchise with players from the Minnesota North Stars organization. Evans was selected and was now Sharks property. Evans played five games with San Jose in their inaugural season scoring one assist. It proved to be his only NHL point.

Evans never made it back to the NHL level after his brief time in San Jose; however, his career continued for several years. He returned to Kalamazoo for year, then joined the Peoria Rivermen for two seasons. Evans then bounced to the Central Hockey League for a year, then jumped to East Coast League for two more. By 1999-2000, his last year in pro hockey, he was playing in the Western Professional Hockey League with the Tupelo T-Rex. He finished that season with a seven game stint with the Memphis Riverkings of the Central League.
