Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jason Botterill
Jason Botterill starred at the University of Michigan for four years. He led the CCHA in goals twice and was claimed 20th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. In 1995-96, he was named to the conference's Second All-Star Team after leading the Wolverines to the NCAA title.

The young forward played four games in Dallas in 1997-98 but otherwise learned the ropes with the IHL's Michigan K-Wings. He followed the same pattern the next year before he was traded to the expansion Atlanta Thrashers. Botterill played 25 games with the club before he was sent to the Calgary Flames during the 1999-00 season.

After two seasons with the Flames organization, Botterill signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Sabres in the summer of 2002. Upon his arrival with the club, the former Wolverine has split his time between the Sabres and their AHL affiliate in Rochester.

On the international stage, Botterill is a three-time member of Canada's World Junior team (1994-96).
