Defenceman Stephane Guerard played briefly with the Quebec Nordiques in the late 80s. He also toiled for parts of two years in the AHL during a relatively short pro career hat was ruined by injuries.

Born in Ste. Elizabeth, Quebec Guerard was a tower of strength on the Laurentide Midgets before joining the QMJHL's Shawinigan Cataracts. He was chosen 41st overall by the Nordiques in 1986 before he was returned to junior. The young blueliner played 30 NHL games as a rookie in 1987-88 but spent the next season with the Halifax Citadels of the AHL. Injuries limited him to a handful of games in Quebec in 1989-90 before he was forced to retire.
