Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jason Holland
Born in Morinville, Alberta, Holland excelled with the St. Albert Eagles of the AMHL before joining the WHL's Kamloops Blazers. In 1993 he was presented the Warwick Trophy as the top player in the AMHL. Holland was chosen 38th overall by the Islanders in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, then returned for two more years with Kamloops. His offensive savvy and mobility were important factors when the Blazers won consecutive Memorial Cups in 1994 and 1995. In 1996, the young rearguard was named to the WHL west first all-star team after recording 24 goals and helping Canada win gold at the World Junior Championships.

During his first two pro seasons Holland played a few games on Long Island but spent most of his time learning the ropes with the Kentucky Thoroughblades of the AHL. In March, 1998 Holland was part of the package sent to the Buffalo Sabres for forward Jason Dawe. Upon joining the Sabres organization, Holland spent most of his playing time with the AHL's Rochester Americans, while seeing limited duty with the parent club in Buffalo.

After parts of four seasons with the Sabres organization, Holland signed as a free-agent with the Los Angeles Kings in the summer of 2001.
