Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brad Jones
Brad Jones was a hard-working left-winger who played 148 NHL games for three different teams between 1987 and 1992. He was an effective player as an amateur, in the minor leagues and in Europe during his career.

Born in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Jones played four years at the University of Michigan. After his freshman year in 1984 he was selected 156th overall by the Winnipeg Jets. A tireless worker with good speed, Jones scored 89 goals in his college career and was voted on to the CCHA second all-star team in 1986 and the first team the next year. In 1987 he also earned selection to the NCAA West second all-America team.

Jones played four games with the Jets after finishing his senior year in 1986-87. The next year he joined the U.S. National Team and scored 50 points in 50 games before joining Winnipeg for the last 19 games of the season. Jones spent most of the next two years in the AHL while suiting up periodically for Winnipeg.

After being traded to the L.A. Kings for winger Phil Sykes, Jones scored 20 points in 53 games. In August 1991 he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent and played 48 games for them in 1991-92. Between 1992 and 1998, Jones alternated between the minor leagues and such European clubs as the Frankfurt Lions in Germany and the Finnish squad Ilves Tampere.
