Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mark Kachowski
Mark Kachowski was a fiery left-winger who was capable of chipping in with a bit of offense. He was solid in junior and the minor leagues and demonstrated his grit in parts of three seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the late 1980s.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Kachowski reached the 20-goal mark twice in junior with the Kamloops Blazers. Undrafted and unsigned in 1986, he joined the IHL's Flint Spirits and quickly became an emotional part of the team. The Pittsburgh Penguins were intrigued and signed the spark plug forward as a free agent shortly before training camp opened in August 1987.

Kachowski played 64 games for Pittsburgh between 1987 and 1989. He demonstrated heart and soul but his talent level wasn't at the same level as his desire. He became a solid forward for the IHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks before retiring in 1992.
