Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Daniel Lacroix
Left-winger Daniel Lacroix spent seven years in the NHL during the 1990s. He was a hard-nosed scorer in junior and the minors but was strictly a grinder in the big leagues.

The Montreal native played for the L'Outaouais squad in the QAAA before suiting up for the QMJHL's Granby Bisons in 1986-87. After a solid rookie season, he was chosen 31st overall by the New York Rangers at the Entry Draft. Lacroix was returned to junior and put up his most impressive numbers in 1988-89 with 45 goals and 320 penalty minutes.

The burly forward spent most of his first six pro seasons in the AHL where he was among the leaders in penalty minutes but also hit the 20-goal mark twice. He played a handful of games with the Rangers then was traded to the Boston Bruins for Glen Featherstone prior to the 1994-95 season. He played 23 games for the Bruins after the owner's lockout in 1995 and then rejoined New York after being picked up on waivers.

After splitting the 1995-96 season between the AHL and the Rangers, Lacroix signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers. He played a regular shift for two years and was a solid defensive grinder on the fourth line. Lacroix played briefly with the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders before heading to Britain to suit up for the Newcastle Jesters in 2000-01.
