Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Darcy Martini
Defenseman Darcy Martini played two games for the Edmonton Oilers in 1993-94. He was a rugged player in his own end but could make smart passes to his forwards in a pro career spent mostly in the minors.

Born in Castlegar, BC, Martini was chosen 162nd overall by Edmonton in 1989 after a solid freshman year at Michigan Tech. The hard-nosed rearguard returned to finish his four year career with the Huskies before spending most of the 1992-93 season with the AHL's Cape Breton Oilers. During the post season he played two games in the Oilers' march to a Calder Cup title.

In addition to his two game trial in Edmonton, Martini was a regular in the AHL and IHL over the next three seasons. His best performance came with the Los Angeles Ice Dogs of the "I" in 1995-96 when he registered 46 points in 49 games. Martini retired in 1997 after scoring 22 goals for Klagenfurter AC of Austria.
