Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Sergei Vyshedkevich
Born in Dedovsk, USSR Sergei Vyshedkevich starred for Dynamo Moscow and was chosen 70th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 1995. He adjusted well to the North American game with the AHL's Albany River Rats but had trouble making an impression with New Jersey being so deep on defence.

In June, 1999 the young blueliner was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers where he continued to toil in the minors but did manage to play 23 NHL games in 2000-01. In the off-season he was traded to the Anaheim Might Ducks in an exchange of young prospects.

On the international stage, Vyshedkevich, is a three-time member of Russia's World Championship team (2002, 2003 and 2005).
