Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Sergei Berezin
Sergei Berezin was born November 5, 1971 in Voskresenk, Russia. The tenth round, 256 overall selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Berezin came to North America in 1996-97 after scoring 49 goals in 45 games with the Cologne Sharks of the DEL.

An offensively gifted player, Berezin went on to play five season in Toronto before being dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes in 2001-02. Known for his speed and accurate shot, Berezin would falter somewhat in Phoenix and subsequently was dealt to the Montreal Canadiens.

Unable to fit in with the Habs, Berezin was on the move once again in 2002-03, joining the Chicago Blackhawks where he would regain his scoring touch from his days in Toronto, notching 18 goals before he was dealt to the Washington Capitals at the trading deadline.
