Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jamie Pushor
Jamie Pushor played his junior hockey with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL from 1989 to 1993. During that time he established himself as a physical rearguard who had the tools to keep his crease clear. After only his second year with the club, the Detroit Red Wings drafted him. He remained in Lethbridge, however, for two more seasons and became his club's MVP and best defenceman.

In 1993, Pushor turned pro with the Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL where he remained for most of the three seasons that followed. It wasn't until 1996 that he finally landed a permanent job at the NHL level. Pushor assumed full-time duty on the Wings' blueline and quickly established his game of play-it-safe, tough defense.

In the latter stages of the 1997-98 season, Pushor was dealt to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and played his usual stay-at-home game for just over one season until the Atlanta Thrashers picked him off in the Expansion Draft. The team kept him for only three weeks and then traded him to the Dallas Stars. In the Lone Star State, Pushor performed his usual role and made it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals before he and the Stars bowed out to the New Jersey Devils.

In the summer of 2000, the Columbus Blue Jackets claimed Pushor in the Expansion Draft. Pushor played parts of two years with the Blue Jackets, before being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, with whom he played his 500th NHL game during the 2002-03 season. After his stay in Pittsburgh, Pushor returned to the Blue Jacket organization in December 2003, before having his rights traded to the New York Rangers after only a mere seven games in Columbus.

Following his short stint with the New Rangers, Pushor was sent to the club's AHL affiliate in Hartford.

In the Summer of 2006 Pushor was signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
