Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Yevgeny Shaldybin
Defenceman Yevgeny Shaldybin played three games with the Boston Bruins in 1996-97. He was a decent positional player with good mobility who struggled to adjust to the North American game.

Born in Novosibirsk, USSR Shaldybin was chosen 151st overall by Boston in 1995 while he was anchoring the blueline on Torpedo Yaroslavl. In 1996 he decided to try his luck in the NHL and scored a goal in three game for the Bruins while spending most of the year with the AHL's Providence Bruins. After one more year in Providence he abandoned the NHL experiment and returned home.
