Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jeff Serowik
Defenceman Jeff Serowik played briefly with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins in the 90s. He was a fine positional player who could also contribute on offense, particularly in the minors.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Serowik was chosen 85th overall by Toronto while he was enjoying a solid high school career with Lawrence Academy. He then spent four years with Providence College and was named to the Hockey East second all-star team in 1990. Apart from a one game look with Toronto in 1990-91, the young blueliner was a regular in the AHL where he reached double figures in goals twice.

In June, 1994, Serowik signed with Boston and played one game for his new team. The rest of his time was spent with the Providence Bruins where he scored 28 goals and won the Eddie Shore Award as the top defenceman in the AHL. The solid rearguard settled into the IHL where he played several years beginning in 1995-96.

Serowik returned to the NHL in 1998 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He earned a regular spot on the Pens powerplay until a serious injury sadly and abruptly ended his career.
