Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Chris Snell
Defenceman Chris Snell played briefly for the Toronto Maple Leafs and LA Kings in the 90s. He was a talented offensive player who put up impressive numbers in junior and the minors.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Snell was a junior standout with the OHA's Ottawa 67s. He was taken 145th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 1991 after notching 82 points for the 67s and helping Canada win gold at the World Junior Championships. Snell was selected twice to the OHL first all-star team then played his first two pro seasons on the AHL's Rochester Americans.

In August, 1993, the young backliner signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He played his first two NHL games that year and registered 96 points for the St. John's Maple Leafs of the AHL. Snell's stellar work earned him a place on the league's first all-star team and the Eddie Shore Plaque as the top defenceman in the AHL. Prior to the 1994-95 season he was involved a multi-player trade with the Kings. Snell played 32 games for his new club then resumed his productive career in the minors for several years.
