Defenseman Milan Tichy played a few games for the Chicago Black Hawks and the New York Islanders in the 90s. He was a creative offensive player who also played abrasively in his own end.

Born in Plzen, Czechoslovakia, Tichy played with the local Skoda club before moving up to the more prestigious Dukla Trencin squad. He helped Czechoslovaki finish fourth at the 1988 World Junior Championships and was taken 153rd overall by the Haeks at the 1989 Entry Draft.

In 1991-92, Ticky registered 29 points as a rookie pro with the IHL's Indianapolis Ice. He moved up to play 13 games for Chicago the next season before returning to Indy. He spent the 1993-94 season with the Moncton Hawks of the AHL after the Florida Panthers in the Expansion Draft picked him then traded to the Winnipeg Jets. In August, 1994, Tichy came to terms with the Islanders and played most of the next two years in the minors then joined ZPS Zlin of the Czech League before retiring in 1996.
