Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Gary Aldcorn
Aldcorn played his amateur hockey in Winnipeg during the 1950s before being recruited by Toronto and moving to the Marlies to finish his teen years as a player. He was on the 1955 Memorial Cup team and then split most of the next three years between the Leafs and the farm team in Rochester.

The Red Wings claimed Aldcorn at the 1959 Intra-League draft, and that season was his finest in the NHL. He scored 22 goals and 51 points, but he followed that with a dismal year in Detroit, scoring just twice in 49 games before being traded to Boston with Murray Oliver and Tom McCarthy for Vic Stasiuk and Leo Labine.

Aldcorn spent the last six years of his career outside the NHL, most notably with Canada's National team at the 1965 World Championships at which Canada finished fourth. He retired in 1968.
