Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Frank Bennett
Born in Toronto, Ontario on March 4, 1922, Frank Bennett was adept at both the left wing and defence positions. Bennett spent two seasons with the St. Michael's College Majors before making the leap to the National Hockey League and the Detroit Red Wings during the 1943-44 season. With the Wings, Bennett played seven games and posted an assist. The rest of that campaign was spent with the Assumption College club of the Detroit Senior loop.

Though Bennett's seven-game stay with the Red Wings ended up being his only time in the NHL, he did continue to play professional hockey. He spent the '44-'45 season with the Providence Reds of the American Hockey league and split the next season between the Reds and the Shawinigan Cataracts of the Quebec Senior League.

The 1947-48 season was Bennett's last in pro hockey, a year he spent with the Cataracts and the Dolbeau Castors of the Quebec Provincial League.
