Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Danny Bolduc
Winger Danny Bolduc was not only a talented hockey player growing up in Maine; he was also a scholar in school. He had the best of both worlds when he enrolled at Harvard University and played for the school team for three years from 1972 to 1975.

In 1975-76 Bolduc proudly wore the red, white and blue playing for the United States National Team for 54 games scoring 39 goals and 70 points. The highlight of his hockey career came in 1976 when he played for the U.S. at the Innsbruck Winter Olympics.

Bolduc's impressive play with the U.S. National Team earned him a free-agent contract from the WHA's New England Whalers following the Olympics. Bolduc played out the 1976 season with New England and another two years with the club, which acted as a springboard for his being able to eventually jump to the NHL. The Detroit Red Wings had shown considerable interest in Bolduc and he inked a deal with them in the summer of 1978.

Bolduc played the better part of two seasons with the Red Wings but could never advance beyond his role as a checking third-line forward. In the early 1980s he was relegated to the minors but did get one final look at the NHL when he skated for two games with the Calgary Flames in 1983-84.

In 102 NHL contests, Bolduc scored 22 goals and 41 points.
