Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Doug Brennan
Born January 10, 1905 in Peterborough, Ontario, Doug Brennan's journey to the NHL began in 1925-26 as a member of the Peterborough Seniors of the OHA-Sr. A rushing defenseman, Brennan split the 1926-27 season between the AHA's Winnipeg Maroons and the NOHA's Kenora Thistles before re-joining the Maroons the following year.

In 1928-29, Brennan joined the PCHL's Vancouver Lions and went on to play four seasons with the club, recording a career high in goals (11) and points (15) in 1929-30 before having his rights acquired by the New York Rangers in the fall of 1931.

Upon his arrival with the Rangers, Brennan found himself among the leading defensmen in the NHL while seeing limited action with the IHL's Windsor Bulldogs in 1933-34.

After three seasons with the Rangers, Brennan split the 1934-35 season between the Can-Am league's Philadelphia Arrows and the Vancouver Lions of the NWHL. In 1935-36, Brennan joined the Can-Am league Springfield Indians and would play one season with the club before retiring from the game at season's end.
