Left Wing Tony Bukovich played two years with the Painesdale Pontiac Chiefs of the MOHL in 1939-40 and 1940-41 before joining the Fort Worth Rangers of the AHA the following year. In 47 games he scored one goal and five points.

In 1942-43, Bukovich played seven games with the Windsor Colonial Tools of the MOHL, scoring ten goals and 16 points in just seven games.

Bukovich played his first three games in the NHL as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 1943-44, where he picked up a single assist. The following year the Red Wings were hit with an assortment of nagging injuries, which permitted Bukovich to play in 14 games with Detroit. He managed to score seven times and finished with nine points that year, giving him ten points for his entire NHL career.

Although he did not play another game in the NHL, Bukovich remained in the pro ranks for another three years with the Indianapolis Capitals and Cleveland Barons of the AHL and also the Minneapolis Millers of the USHL, retiring in 1948.
