Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Leo Carbol
Six games in the Windy City was all the reward Carbol received for 14 years in the minors, most of his 500-plus games with the St. Louis Flyers of the AHA. He played junior in Alberta before being signed by Seattle in the Pacific Coast league and moved on to the AHA where he led the league in penalty minutes in 1930-31.

Carbol became Detroit Red Wings property in 1932 but he never played with the Wings. Instead, he moved to the St. Louis Flyers where he spent the next decade, racking up penalty minutes and never making the NHL grade until 1942 when the depleted team brought him up for six games.

He enlisted in the army for two years (1943-45), and when he was discharged could not make his way back to the Hawks. He retired after one more game with St. Louis in 1945-46.
