Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Wally Clune
Defenseman Wally Clune, who was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 20th, 1930, spent two years with the St. Michael's Majors and one with Guelph Biltmores before embarking on his professional career. Clune had stops in the Quebec Senior Hockey League, the Eastern Hockey League (where he was a First All-Star Team selection) and the Western Hockey League before getting his NHL shot.

The Montreal Royals of the Quebec Hockey League lost Clune's rights when he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the Intra-League draft in 1956. After playing just five games with the Canadiens, Clune ended up back with the Royals. It would be his only time in the National Hockey League.

Clune spent the next five seasons with the Royals before retiring following the 1960-61 campaign.

Wally Clune passed away on February 3rd, 1998.
