Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kevin Devine
Left-winger Kevin Devine played a couple of games for the New York Rangers in 1982-83. Although his impact in the NHL was minimal, he put up impressive numbers in junior, the minors and the WHA. He was a physical player who drove hard to the net and created his share of scoring opportunities.

Born in Toronto, Devine starred for three years on the OHA's Marlboros. He was taken 121st overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1974 after scoring 40 goals and piling up 218 penalty minutes in his last years as an amateur. Unable to come to terms with the Leafs, the young forward joined the WHA's San Diego Mariners in 1974-75.

Devine played three years in southern California and notched 30 goals in 1976-77. He toiled for the Indianapolis Racers and Quebec Nordiques before he was relegated to the minors early in 1978-79. Prior to the next season he was signed as a free agent by the Islanders. Devine apent all but two games over the next six seasons as a key scorer on the CHL's Indianapolis Checkers. He recorded five straight 20-goal seasons and helped the club win two CHL championships before retiring in 1985.
