Right-winger Gary Donaldson played one game for the Chicago Black Hawks in 1973-74. Although his NHL tenure was brief, his production in junior and the minors was noteworthy.
Born in Trail, BC. Donaldson was a standout in the BCJHL with the Penticton Panthers. He was taken 141st overall by the Hawks in 1972 after scoring 31 goals for the Victoria Cougars of the WCJHL. He then spent his first four years as a solid contributor on the CHL's Dallas Black Hawks. In addition to his one game stint in the Windy City, he topped the 20-goal mark three straight years in Dallas.
In August, 1976, the hard-working winger signed with the Houston Aeros of the WHA. He played five games for the club but spent most of the year with the Oklahoma City Stars of the CHL. After scoring 23 goals for the Stars, Donaldson retired in 1977.
