Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Grant Erickson
Left winger Grant Erickson played two games with the Boston Bruins during the 1968-69 season then became property of the Minnesota North Stars that summer as a result of the Intra-League draft. Erickson, who was born in the town of Pierceland, Saskatchewan on April 28, 1947 played four more NHL games with the North Stars in 1969-70.

With just six games and one goal to his credit, Erickson's NHL career was over. He spent the next two years of his career with the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League. When the World Hockey Association formed as a rival to the NHL for the 1972-73 season, an opportunity presented itself for Erickson. He was selected by the Cleveland Crusaders in the WHA General Player Draft and continued his career in the city he'd been playing in for the last two years.

Erickson played three years with the Crusaders then was traded to the Phoenix Roadrunners prior to the 1975-76 season. He spent part of that year with Phoenix, also spending time with the Syracuse Blazers of the North American Hockey League and the Tucson Mavericks of the Central League.

Erickson's last season of professional hockey came the next year. He split it between the Rhode Island Reds and the Oklahoma Blazers.
