Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Peter Eriksson
Big winger Peter Eriksson was born in Kramfors, Sweden on July 12, 1965. He played five seasons in his native country, including representing Sweden at the Canada Cup in 1987, playing in the 1989 World Championships and winning a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympics, before coming to North America to play for the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers drafted Eriksson 64th overall in the 1987 Entry Draft. He joined Edmonton for the 1989-90 season, suiting up for 20 games and scoring three goals and three assists. He spent 21 games that year with the Oilers farm team in Cape Breton, and by season's end, unable to make an impression at the NHL level, he elected to return to Sweden.

Back in Sweden, Eriksson rejoined his club team HV-71 Jonkoping, who he had played four seasons with before heading to the NHL. Eriksson played four more years with them before retiring after the 1993-94 season.
