Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Lloyd Finkbeiner
Lloyd Finkbeiner played defence and left-wing for nearly twenty years in the minors and senior leagues. His NHL tenure consisted of two games with the New York Americans in 1940-41.

Born in Guelph, Ontario Finkbeiner played for the OHA's Guelph Indians for two seasons before joining the Detroit Pontiacs of the Michigan-Ontario league in 1939-40. He spent two years in the minors before entering military service during World War II. After the War he split seven years between the Buffalo Bisons of the AHL and USHL's Dallas Texans.

In 1947-48 Finkbeiner scored 27 points and played solid defensively while earning a place on the league's second all-star team. After spending the 1952-53 season with the Cincinnati Mohawks of the IHL, Finkbeiner spent three years with the senior Stratford Indians. The veteran brought his lengthy pro career to a close in 1956.
