Charles Pletsch was born in 1893 in Chesley, Ontario. A graduate of the Ontario Hockey Association Senior 'A' Hockey League's Chesley ACC, Pletsch joined the Northern Ontario Hockey Association's Sudbury Wolves in 1912-13 before becoming a member of the Ontario Hockey Association's-Intermediate Stratford Indians the following year.
From 1913-14 to 1915-16, the Chesley, Ontario native was a member of the Indians before signing as a free agent with the Detroit Michigans, a team with whom he spent the next three seasons playing in exhibition games with.
In 1919-20, Pletsch joined the Ontario Intermediate Hockey Association's Markdale Seniors, a team with whom he spent one and a half seasons with before signing as a free agent with the Hamilton Tigers early into the 1920-21 season.
Throughout his career, Charles Pletsch played in one NHL game.
