Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jimmy Fowler
Defenceman Jimmy Fowler played three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the late 1930s. He was a fine passer who used his shot effectively from the point.

The Toronto native played junior in the OHA with the West Toronto Nationals and Toronto Young Rangers. He then split the 1934-35 season between the Toronto City Service and the city's All-Stars. Fowler turned pro the next year in the IAHL with the Syracuse Stars where he scored ten goals from his defence position.

Between 1936 and 1939, Fowler was a regular on the Maple Leafs' blueline. He scored 18 regular season goals over that span and was a consistent player in the post-season when Toronto reached consecutive Stanley Cup finals. Fowler retired following the Leafs' loss in final to the Boston Bruins in 1939.
