Defenceman Tim Friday played 23 games for the Detroit Red Wings in 1985-86. He was responsible in his own end of the rink and moved the puck effectively to his forwards.

Born in Burbank, California, Friday spent four seasons in the ECAC with the RPI Engineers. He played sound defence and recorded 71 assists over that span. Friday signed as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings in May 1985.

Friday played 23 games for the Wings in 1985-86 but struggled with a plus/minus rating of -9. He scored 33 points in 43 games for the Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL before retiring.
