Forward Leo Gaudreault played parts of three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens in the 20s and 30s. The majority of his pro career was spent in the Can-Am League with the Providence Reds where he was equally proficient at centre and left-wing.
Born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Gaudreault played two years with the local Bluets of the QPHL. He then toiled for the ECHA's Quebec Sons of Ireland, the Montreal Nationale of the ECHL before returning to the QPHL with St. Francis Xavier. The young forward was a solid addition to the Montreal Canadiens in 1927-28 where he was teamed with Pit Lepine and Wildor Larochelle.
After playing 11 games in 1928-29, Gaudreault was sent down to Providence where he excelled for several years. He hit the 20-goal mark twice over the next few years and returned to play most of the 1932-33 season for the Canadiens. The veteran forward retired in 1937 after playing a year in the AHA with the Minneapolis Millers.
