Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Gary Geldart
Defenceman Gary Geldart played four games for the Minnesota North Stars in 1970-71. He was a decent puck handler who could play abrasively in his own zone.

The native of Moncton, New Brunswick played Bantam with the local Red Wings then played for the Halifax Canadians of the NSJHL and the Fredericton Red Wings of the NBJHL. In 1968-69 he came to the OHA to suit up for the Hamilton Red Wings and later toiled for the London Knights.

Geldart was chosen 89th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1970 and played most of the next season with the AHL's Cleveland Barons. He played three years with the Barons franchise including its brief move to Jacksonville, Florida in 1972-73. This was followed by three years with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs and two with the New Haven Nighthawks. In 1976-77 Geldart scored 40 points for New Haven and played tough defence while earning selection to the AHL's second all-star team. He retired after playing nine games the following season.
