Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Gerry Geran
Centre Gerry Geran played parts of two NHL seasons during the early days of the league. He was a quick skater who could scorer and check equally well in a career spent mostly in the USAHA.

Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts Geran played two years at Dartmouth College. In 1917-18 he played one game for the Montreal Wanderers in the NHL's inaugural season but spent most of his time with the Boston Navy. The next year he made his USAHA debut with the Boston AAA and spent the bulk of his career with the club. He also suited up briefly with the Boston Shoe Traders and the Paris Volants in Europe. In 1921-22 he dominated in Europe by scoring 88 times in eight contests for the Volants.

Geran lived out a dream in 1925-26 by playing 35 NHL games for the hometown Boston Bruins. Working on a line with Hago Harrington and Herb Mitchell, he scored five goals and worked diligently all over the ice. His fantasy was shortlived and he toiled in the AHA with the St. Paul Saints before retiring in 1927.
