Defenceman Lorry Gloeckner played 13 games for the Detroit Red Wings in 1978-79. A decent playmaker who could play aggressively in his own zone, he spent most of his brief pro career in the minors.

He then played four years with the Victoria Cougars of the WCJHL and was selected 34th overall by the Boston Bruins in 1976 after a 55-point season. He returned for one more year of junior then sat out a season due to injuries. He returned in 1978 after signing with the Detroit Red Wings but saw most of his ice time in the minors before retiring in 1980.
