Left-winger Benoit Gosselin played seven games for the New York Rangers in 1977-78. Although his NHL dreams were never fully realized, he put up impressive scoring statistics in junior and the minors.

The Montreal native was selected 80th overall by the New York Rangers in 1977 after scoring 64 goals for the QMJHL's Trois Rivieres Draveurs. In addition to his brief stay in New York, Gosselin played 52 games as a rookie pro with the AHL's New Haven Nighthawks in 1977-78. He played five more years in the minors before hanging up his skates in 1983. His best year was 1979-80 when he scored 37 goals in 42 games for the Dayton Gems of the IHL and 21 goals in 30 matches for the CHL's Tulsa Oilers.
