Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tony Graboski
Tony Graboski played parts of three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens in the early 40s. Although he was used as a utility player on left-wing and defence in the NHL, he put up impressive offensive numbers in the minors and at the senior level.

Born in Timmins, Ontario, Graboski played junior with the OHA's Oshawa Majors before joining the senior Sudbury Wolves in 1935-36. After three years with the Hershey Bears/Cubs of the EHL, he spent the 1939-40 season dominating the Cape Breton senior loop with the Sydney Millionaires.

Graboski played solidly in 34 games as a rookie with the Canadiens in 1940-41 and didn't look out of place during a quarterfinal loss to the Chicago Black Hawks. He split the next season between the NHL and the Washington Lions of the AHL then spent most of the 1942-43 season in the minors. After two years of military service during World War II, Graboski played 19 games for the senior Ottawa Senators in 1945-46 before retiring.
