Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bobby Guindon
Left-winger Bobby Guindon played six NHL games for the Winnipeg Jets in 1979-80. Most of his pro success came in the WHA where he played in every one of that league's seven seasons.

Born in Labelle, Quebec, Guindon was an amateur star with the St. Jerome Alouettes and the Montreal Junior Canadiens. He was chosen 26th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 1970 after scoring 43 goals in his last year of junior and being named to the OHA second all-star team. After two years of developing with the CHL's Fort Worth Wings, the young forward joined the Quebec Nordiques of the newly founded WHA.

Guindon scored 28 goals for the Nords and was a reliable performer for three years before he signed with the Winnipeg Jets as a free agent. Guindon was an important two-way forward on the powerhouse Jets who featured such stars as Bobby Hull, Anders Hedberg, Ulf Nilsson and Lars Erik Sjoberg. After scoring eight goals while helping the Jets win the Avco Cup in 1978, Guindon won the WHA Playoff MVP trophy. He remained with the club when they joined the NHL but was mostly used as a farmhand on the CHL's Tulsa Oilers before retiring in 1981.
