Lloyd Haddon did short stints with both the AHL's Hershey Bears and the WHL's Edmonton Flyers before being called up by the Detroit Red Wings during the 1959-1960 season. The former OHA Jr. and WHA All-Star played only eight games with the Wings.

During his brief appearance in the NHL, he registered no goals or assists but did get to play one game during the playoffs. In 1961 he returned to the minors and played two seasons each with the Edmonton Flyers and the LA Blades, and one with the St. Louis Braves. He retired after the 1964-1965 season.
