Left-winger Gord Hampson played four games with the Calgary Flames in 1982-83. The 6'3", 210 pounder was at his best digging in the corners at college and in the minors.
The Flames signed the Vancouver native as a free agent in 1981 after a solid four-year tenure at the University of Michigan. During his inaugural pro season, Hampson scored 34 points in 71 games for the CHL's Oklahoma City Stars. In 1982-83 he joined the Flames' CHL affiliate in Denver, Colorado and was called up for four NHL contests. Hampson scored 19 goals the next season in Colorado before retiring.
