Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Walter Harnott
Left-winger Walter Harnott played six games with the Boston Bruins in 1933-34. He spent most of his substantial career in the minors and senior hockey leagues.

The Montreal native first garnered attention as a solid worker on the local Bell Telephone and Columbus senior squads. "Happy" then joined the Boston Cubs of the Can-Am circuit, which led to his brief NHL tenure with the parent Bruins. Harnott continued to compete for the Cubs until he joined the Calgary Tigers of the NWHL in 1935-36.

Beginning in 1936-37, Harnott spent a half dozen years in the AHA, mostly with the St. Louis Flyers. After scoring 53 points in 48 games for the Flyers in 1939-40, he was named to the league's second all-star team. Harnott returned to Quebec during the twilight years of his career. During World War II he skated with the Montreal RCAF squad and the Valleyfield Braves before hanging up his skates in 1945.
