Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Andre Hinse
Left-winger Andre Hinse played four games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1967-68. He was a fine goal scorer who enjoyed most of his success in the WHA and the minors.

Born in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Hinse played junior with the local Reds. As a rookie pro he scored 33 goals for the EHL's Charlotte Checkers then upped his total to 41 with the club the next season. In addition to his brief appearance with Toronto, the crafty forward averaged over a point per game for the CHL's Tulsa Oilers in 1967-68.

In 1969-70, Hinse began a productive four-year career with the Phoenix Roadrunners of the Western League. He accumulated 143 goals over this span and was voted on to the league's first all-star team three straight years beginning in 1971. In 1973 Hinse was an integral part of the Roadrunners' WHL championship. Prior to the 1973-74 season he signed with the WHA's Houston Aeros and helped the club with the Avco Cup a few months later. Hinse notched 39 goals with the club in 1974-75 and 35 the next year before he saw his playing time decrease. The veteran scorer retired 1977 after returning to Phoenix to play for the city's WHA club.
