Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bob Hoffmeyer
Bob Hoffmeyer was drafted by Chicago in 1975 and made his NHL debut as a Black Hawks during the 1977-78 season. He played five games for the Hawks that season and six the next; he garnered three assists but goals remained elusive.

Hoffmeyer spent all of 1979-80 in the AHL and the following season tried his luck in Germany. The Flyers signed him as a free agent in November 1981, and it was in Philadelphia that he had his best NHL season. In 57 games he scored seven goals and earned 20 assists; he was a +13 and also spent a career high 142 minutes in the penalty box. He divided his time between Maine of the AHL and Philadelphia until being signed by the New Jersey Devils in 1983.

He played 58 games as a Devil in 1983-84 and spent all of 1984-85 with them as well. The following year, however, he was back in the AHL with the Mariners, for whom he played eight games before retiring from play.
