Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Greg Hotham
Greg Hotham was a 5th-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, 84th overall, in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. Hotham played his major junior hockey with the Kingston Canadians of the OHA for two seasons. Joining the club at 18, Hotham dressed for 31 games, scoring a goal and 15 points. In his draft year, 1975-76, Hotham played in 49 games, scoring ten goals and 42 points.

Hotham made his pro debut as a member of the Saginaw Gears of the IHL the following season, playing in 69 games and scoring 37 points. He was assigned to the team for further development in 1977-78, playing 80 games, scoring 13 goals and 72 points. Just making it to the professional level was something Hotham had basically given up on in his late teens.

It was not until the 1979-80 season that Hotham got the call to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He dressed for 46 games, scoring 13 points. Hotham played just eleven games for the Leafs the next year, and early in 1981-82, he was sent to the Pittsburgh Penguins. During two full seasons in a Pens' uniform, Hotham reached the 30-point plateau. He played his last NHL game with Pittsburgh in 1984-85.

After four years of toiling in the minors with the Newmarket Saints of the AHL, Hotham retired from hockey following the 1989-90 season.
